Jais, Mais Urged To Investigate Hasan Ali's Allegations
Thursday, 23 February 2012 00:12

SHAH ALAM - Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim wants the Islamic religious authorities in the state to investigate into allegations of attempts to convert Muslims in the state.

He was referring to former state executive council member Dr Hasan Mohamed Ali's allegations of Muslims being converted by solar-powered talking bible, Christian missionaries donning robes going to mosques to get close to Muslims and Muslims having been baptised as Christians.

Khalid said Hasan's allegations, which were not backed by evidence, had created discomfort among the diverse community in the state.

"The allegations are also not constructive because they are merely intended to weaken the role of MAIS (Selangor Islamic Religious Council) and JAIS (Selangor Islamic Religious Department)," he told a media conference after the state executive council meeting on Wednesday.
