KUALA LUMPUR -- Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim will not sue the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) over a report published by the newspaper on his support for "all efforts to protect the security of the state of Israel".
Anwar said the report published by the newspaper on an interview with him was accurate.
When asked why he insisted on not suing the newspaper, Anwar said, WSJ had fulfilled all the conditions he had stated in order for him to support Israeli's security.
He said this when met by reporters after meeting Kelantan Menteri Besar Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, who is also PAS spiritual leader, here today.
The PAS Ulama Council, led by Nik Abdul Aziz, had last week called on the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser to retract his remarks on his backing for Israel's safety in WSJ or sue the newspaper.
On his meeting with Nik Abdul Aziz, Anwar said the Kelantan menteri besar listened to his explanation on the issue.
Also present at the meeting was PAS Information chief Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
