Opposition Parties Told To Avoid Racial Issues
Thursday, 09 February 2012 00:06

SEREMBAN - Menteri Besar Mohamad Hasan has urged all quarters, especially opposition parties, to show responsibility by avoiding racial issues during rallies.

He fears that the opposition's overzealous statements on racial issues will make people lose their patience as it can lead to undesirable incidents.

"Campaign by all means, say you want to capture Negeri Sembilan but please be careful.

"The people just can't accept them and have feelings too. Their campaign style is unhealthy," he told reporters after chairing the State Exco Meeting here on Wednesday.

He was commenting a statement by Negeri Sembilan PAS commissioner Mohd Taufek Abdul Ghani recently that it had identified eight winnable state seats in the next general election.

Earlier, Mohamad who is Negeri Sembilan Umno liaison chairman said 99 families from Kampung Abuk will receive offer letters to buy houses developed by the state government.

He said that the squatters who made way for the Middle Ring Road Project were given priority to buy the houses at lower price.

"We give them priority because they agreed to move out to make way for the road project and in recognition, the state government will give discounts."

Mohamad said the offer letters would be presented by Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak who is expected to visit the state this Friday.
