PUTRAJAYA -- University students are advised not to be easily swayed by the opposition, which constantly bad mouths all government policies and programmes.
As the intellectual fraternity and hope of the nation, students ought to weigh matters in an intelligent manner and come to rational decisions rather than take extreme actions, said Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
"When our thoughts are poisoned we lose our judgment. So we must use our intelligence to weigh matters in order to balance between certain ideals and what we need to do," he said after launching the students' peaceful campus tour here, today.
Tengku Adnan emphasised that the government cared about the welfare of the people and was prepared to listen to the dissatisfaction, complaints, suggestions and plans of the students and make improvements where necessary.
The 14-day tour, involves students gathering the views and needs of the people at 14 locations throughout Peninsular Malaysia, the outcome of which would then be presented to Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak.
About 190 students are participating in the tour which is organised by the Malaysian students alumni, Aspirasi.
