Saturday, 04 February 2012 00:03

KUALA LUMPUR -- The investigation into alleged irregularities in National Feedlot Corporation (NFCorp) is expected to be completed soon, said the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) director of Investigations, Mustafar Ali.

Mustafar who is heading a special team investigating NFCorp, said statements had been taken from all those involved with regard to the allegations and the related documents gathered.

"The investigaiton will be completed any time soon," he said when contacted on Friday.

Asked whether the MACC had recorded a statement from Women, Family and Community Development Minister Sharizat Abdul Jalil, who is also the wife of NFCorp executive chairman Dr Mohamad Salleh Ismail, Mustafar said: "I don't want to comment on this. All involved (in the case) will be called."

Auditor-General Ambrin Buang recently clarifed that the Auditor-General's Report 2010 did not use such words as "in a mess" or misappropriation in its audit report on the NFCorp's National Feedlot Centre (NFC) project in Gemas, Negeri Sembilan.

He said the main focus of the audit was on the NFC's achievements since its establishment in 2006 and not on NFCorp as a company.

The NFC had been made an issue by the opposition as though it had been managed involving misappropriation of funds and linking it to Shahrizat.
