SIBU - An Indonesian 'bomoh' was arrested by police last night in Tajong Manis for allegedly raping an Indonesian housewife on Tuesday.
The suspect, aged 44, was alleged to have raped the victim twice in her bedroom while her husband waited in the sitting room, thinking the 'bomoh' was "curing her".
The victim, 32, said she had been suffering from cough for sometimes and was recommended by a friend that there was a well-known ‘bomoh’ who would be able to cure her.
When the ‘bomoh’ arrived, the man started massaging her in the presence of her husband. The bomoh asked the husband to wait outside as the “spell of curing her” would not be effective if there were to be an onlooker.
Drowsy and weak
The victim told police that while her husband left, the bomoh did something to her that made her drowsy and weak. He then stripped her and raped her twice. She said she was aware of what was going on but was too weak to shout.
After the bomoh left, her husband peep into the room and thought his wife was sleeping but she was still too weak to get up. After an hour, she got up and started crying. Her husband then brought her to the police to lodge a report.
As the bomoh was said to be well-known among the Indonesian community, police traced him to Tajong Manis where he was curing another person. He was detained for further questioning.
In another case, Sibu police arrested three men in their 30s under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drug Act in Ulu Sg. Merah on Thursday night.
Patrolling police became suspicious when they saw a stationary Viva with three men in the dark. While approaching, one of them threw a bag out. Police found that it contained syabu, Ermine 5 and Ketamine. The trio was remanded for 7 days. - Malaysian Mirror
