KOTA BARU – PAS spiritual leader, who cut short his attendance at the party’s political seminar on Saturday, has admitted to feeling anxious after waking up with a bleeding mouth two days earlier. “At about 1.30am on Thursday, I suddenly woke up after I felt there was blood in my mouth. “There was so much blood I could not speak. I panicked. My heart started pounding because this had never happened before,” he told reporters at his home in Pulau Melaka, near here, on Sunday. Admitted into IJN The Kelantan mentri besar,78, who had been in Kuala Lumpur last week since Monday for the Rulers’ Council was admitted into the National Heart Institute (IJN) on Thursday due to fatigue. He was scheduled to make the closing remarks at the one-day seminar on Saturday but he left the PAS field headquarters at Taman Melewar, where the event was being held, soon after party president Abdul Hadi Awang (pic, left) delivered his presidential speech. He had cited 'health reasons' for not being able to spend more time at the event, which was attended by more than 1,000 delegates. Academicians Dr Abu Hassan Hasbullah (from the Universiti Malaya) and Dr Abdul Aziz Bari (International Islamic University) were guest speakers at the event. Hadi later closed the one-day seminar, which was a result of a call by Nik Aziz to hold an EGM to discuss issues that were causing the party’s dwindling support. Several scans and a probe “After I was admitted (into the IJN), I had to undergo several scans of my heart," Nik Aziz said. “The doctors put a probe down my throat but they found nothing. “I was relieved to learn that the blood had only come from my gums and throat." - Malaysian Mirror
